The 2010 FIFA world cup is nearly here. Every four years when this prestigious global event occurs it results in an increase in those of us interested in the sport. Soccer, or football as it’s called in Europe, has long been the most popular sport in the world. It is watched and played by more people than any other sporting activity; every nation in the world has their own team. If you or a family member has an interest in also taking it up then you will need to get hold of the right kit; perhaps the most important factor will be to pick the best soccer shoes, otherwise your performance will suffer.

It is essential to understand that there is a big variation between soccer shoes. We are lucky enough to have hundreds of options today when shopping for any form of sporting kit or equipment.

If you carry out a quick search online you will be presented with the details on a number of online retailers who stock the latest soccer shoes and other gear. No matter what your age you can find a pair of sport’s shoes online that have been designed for the actual activity you are planning to take part in.

One of the main factors is going to be the playing surface on which the games are conducted. In most of Europe people still play mainly outdoors. When playing soccer on a natural pitch you will require a traditional pair of trainers. These feature a dozen studs on the bottom which provide a better grip. If you do not use studs when playing on grass you will find yourself slipping everywhere and potentially causing yourself a nasty injury.

Playing soccer indoors on artificial surfaces such as Astro turf will require an altogether different design of shoe. The surfaces indoors are not slippery as when playing on grass, for this reason you do not need shoes with studs.

When it actually comes to choosing a manufacturer then we can pick between all the major brands of sporting goods. Most players will have a tie up with a particular company which involves wearing their shoes.

Many of the world’s top players use Adidas and Nike shoes. The Adidas Predator is a popular choice. This is a great option for midfield players and strikers who need to kick the ball hard; it is a heavy shoe. Liverpool’s excellent captain Steven Gerrard is just one player who uses the Predator to great effect. For a lighter shoe that will give you a quicker pair of heels you may want to go for a Nike option.

i can attest that the nike t90 laser is a durable shoe. i started wearing it after i heard one of my favorite football players wears the shoe – wayne rooney. after going from basic boots, like the adidas copa mundial, to the t90’s i feel like my performance has improved.
